Mr. Mike Najera, Board Governance

Meet Mr. Mike Najera, a seasoned leader and former Port Commissioner of San Diego, with a deep commitment to family and community. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Najera's dedication to helping survivors stems from a profound sense of empathy and a passion for building a safer world for those affected by trauma.

With over 30 years of experience in sustainable energy and business development, Mr. Najera is a successful entrepreneur and the grandson of the organizer of the first successful anti-segregation case in U.S. history (Alvarez v. Lemon Grove School Board). He has been recognized as "Small Business Person of the Year" by the San Diego District's Small Business Administration, "Entrepreneur of the Year" by the San Diego Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and "Builder of the Year" by the Latino Builder Association. His previous venture was also listed among INC Magazine's "5000 fastest growing companies in America." Additionally, Mr. Najera was inducted into the Southwestern Community College Athletic Hall of Fame for his achievements as a former football player and his lifelong commitment to community service.
